As for what we can expect from the newer 2021 Nexon EV, a 100kW (136hp) of power motor is in the works. Comparing it we can see that it would have a 7hp increase over the current Nexon EV which produces 129hp and 245Nm. Despite the bump in power, the battery size stated on the circular – 30.2kWh is the same as the unit available in the current model. It could get 312km on a single charge and the 1-hour charge time to get 80 percent on a DC fast charger should also stay the same.

It is also said to be coming with three trims that include the XM, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX. While we do not have the exact pricing of these new models, they could be priced very similar to what we have seen currently. Along with the 2021 Nexon EV, we are also yet to see the Tigor EV that is set to launch on August 31, 2021. Unlike the previous Tigor EV, the new one uses Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage 300V+ architecture and is intended to cater to private buyers. Tata Motors has confirmed that the electric motor will produce 75hp and 170Nm of peak torque, and the battery and motor will get an 8 year/ 1,60,000km warranty.

The Nexon EV is priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom). While it doesn’t have any direct rivals, the upcoming Tata Tigor EV with Ziptron will definitely be cheaper than the Tata Nexon EV.
