The Honda SP 125 BS6 is a very popular 125cc premium commuter bike in India. This motorcycle was first introduced in the year 2019 just before the BS6 emission norms kicked in early 2020. The new Honda SP 125 is a premium 125cc commuter motorcycle that sits above the Shine in the company’s Indian portfolio. So, in this article, we have shared our First Look impressions of the new 2022 Honda SP 125 BS6.

Design and Colours 

While the design is a subjective topic, there’s no denying the fact that the new Honda SP 125 is a good looking commuter motorcycle. It gets an all-LED headlamp. However, the taillamp and turn indicators are non-LED units. This motorcycle is offered in four different colours, namely Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Imperial Red Metallic, and Striking Green.

Engine and Gearbox

The new Honda SP 125 is powered by a BS6 compliant 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It churns out 11.03 PS of maximum power at 7,500 RPM and 10.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Also, Honda’s new SP 125 gets an Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology that maximizes the performance of the bike and fuel efficiency.

Tyres, Brakes and Features

The Honda SP 125 gets telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. For braking duties, it gets a drum brake at the rear and a disc/drum brake option at the front with a combined braking system. This 125cc motorcycle runs on 18-inch tubeless tyres and in terms of features, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster, LED lighting system, etc.

Price and Competition

The new 2022 Honda SP 125 BS6 is currently priced between Rs 80,587 – Rs 84,588, ex-showroom Delhi. It rivals the likes of Hero Glamour 125, Hero Super Splendor, Honda Shine, TVS Radeon, and others.
