Kia has registered the ‘Soul’ name in India. The Soul is one of the popular Kia product. However, it is not known whether the model is coming to India, but now a new trademark filing has been seen as a way to block others from using the name, which could possibly mean that the company is considering launching this model in India too now.

As for what we know about the car till now, it measures 4,195mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,605mm in height, while the wheelbase is 2,600mm. It has got a footprint while seems to be very similar to what we have seen on the Hyundai Kona Electric.

The standard Soul is accessible with a decision of petrol motors, including a 2.0-litre normally suctioned unit and an all the more impressive 1.6-litre super petrol. The EV, then again, offers a decision of battery pack sizes – 64kWh (long-range) and 39.2kWh (standard reach). The bigger battery pack comes matched with an all the more remarkable 201hp electric engine, while the standard reach model uses a 136hp unit. Kia claims a scope of 452km for the long-range variation and 277km for the standard reach model.

While there is still no confirmation of Kia bring the Kia Soul to the Indian market, with this registration in India, we expect them to bring the news of the car launching in India. This could take some time but may possibly happen either later this year or in 2022.
