For the powertrain, the new AMG C63 would use a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that is used by the A45 S 4Matic+. It would come with a 48V integrated starter motor in the nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT automatic gearbox. The electric motor from the P3 PHEV system will help drive the rear axle and a battery pack is a place under the boot floor to help run it.

There isn’t much info about this, but the exact figures will be revealed later this year. However, the AMG insiders have predicted that the output would be around 548hp and 800Nm. That would help increase nearly 38hp and 100Nm over the C63 S 4Matic.

The new integrated starter motor that is being used by the new C63e claims to operate in a very similar manner to the unit on Mercedes-AMG’s F1 engine. There are various driving modes present, that help provides energy recuperation as well as coasting properties on a trailing throttle.

The same goes for the weight of the car, as there isn’t much information about it either, we can expect the new AMG model to weigh around 250kg. The weight is actually more than the current C63 S 4Matic, most of the weight that has been added should help provide it with the 0-100kph acceleration of around 3.5sec. Addiontially, the governed 290kph top speed would be there, and also there would a drastic improvement in the actual fuel consumption. As for the battery charging, the maker has claimed that it would support 400V recharging, and the fast charging would add up to 100kW.
