Hero MotoCorp launched the new Hero Xtreme 160R in June 2020. The Xtreme 160R is the company’s first 160cc premium offering in the Indian market. This 160cc naked motorcycle became an instant hit in the country, thanks to its aggressive styling, performance, and features. In this article, we have shared the First Look preview of the new 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6.

Design and Colours
While the design is a subjective topic, there’s no denying the fact that the new Hero Xtreme 160R is a good looking motorcycle. It gets an all-LED robotic headlamp. LED tail-lamps and even the turn indicators are fully LED. It is offered in five different colours, namely Stealth Edition, Pearl Silver White, Sports Red, Vibrant Blue, 100 Million Limited Edition.
Engine and Gearbox
The new Hero Xtreme 160R is powered by a 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine with X-Sens technology. This motor churns out 15.2 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque. The engine comes coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox and it weighs just 138.5 kilograms.
Tyres, Brakes and Features
The Xtreme 160R gets telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. For braking duties, it gets a petal disc at the front and a disc/drum brake option at the rear with single-channel ABS. The bike runs on 17-inch tyres and in terms of features, it gets an inverted all-digital instrument cluster, hazard light, etc.
Price and Competition
The new 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 is currently priced between Rs 1.11 lakh – Rs 1.16 lakh, ex-showroom. It rivals the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda X-Blade, Yamaha FZ-S V3, and others.
