Exclusive: Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV spotted without any Camouflage for the first time. The testing for this electric version of the Wagon R has started for a long time, it first started in 2018. Now, there have been more than 50 prototypes vehicles that have been put to test. While we are not completely sure about this, but we believe that when Maruti unveils its electric vehicle, that would be sold via Nexa dealership outlets.
As for what we know about the car till now, it could get features like a large SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a multifunction steering wheel, and an automatic gearbox with a brake regeneration function. Since the electric vehicle is expected to be a premium product offering in India, the vehicle is expected to get an automatic climate control option too.
While for the exterior, the Futuro-E will get split headlamps and newly designed alloy wheels. We believe that the side profile has the U-shaped black alloy wheels as the major highlight while the rear end will feature vertically stacked LED tail lamps with stoplights in the middle of the tailgate. The bumper is will likely get circular fog lights as well.
This Futuro-E could also have support for fast charging option that can charge up to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. There have been multiple reports according to which the company could offer a driving range of up to 200kms and it would be based on the Heartect platform that underpins the current-gen ICE powered Wagon R.
