Ford India adds 2 new showrooms in Delhi and Noida to strengthen its presence. The new showroom is named Adiv Ford, which is led by Abhimanyu Deepak Agarwal, and also Shree Pawan Ford which is led by Sobit Garg.

Adiv Ford is located at B-1/A-11, Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate, Mathura Road, New Delhi. The space of this new showroom is over 5000 square feet for the showroom area and there are also 25000 square feet of the service area. This new 3S facility will deliver an unparalleled aftersales experience with its 10 mechanical and 14 body shop bays at the facility.

The second showroom is in NCR, named Shree Pawan Ford, and is located at D-247/2, Sector-63, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It is by Sobit Garg, the facility is spread over 9108 square feet of showroom area and 55000 square feet of the service area with 10 mechanical bays and 10 body shop bays. 2020 Autocar ranks Ford to be among the most affordable cars to own. Ford India has done it many times and this time too they have delivered on its promise of greater value of money to its customers. As per the Autocar report that covers all vehicle segments and manufacturers, Ford products were among the most economical – ranging from INR 20,682 or 34 paise per kilometer for Ford Figo to INR 42,548 or 71 paise per kilometer for Ford Endeavour. This helps to maintain against segment leaders over a 60,000-kilometer or five-year ownership cycle.

Commenting on this Vinay Raina, executive director for Marketing, Sales & Service at Ford India said, “We have been working to ensure our products continue to deliver the wonderful value of ownership throughout their ownership cycle and address misconceptions. The Maintenance report by Autocar is a great boost and validation of our untiring efforts.”

Also Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor, Autocar India said, “The Autocar India Study 2020 gives an idea of just how much one would spend in maintaining a car, including service parts, their service life, labour rates as well as the service intervals,” he further added,“Through authentic, well-researched data in our annual survey, we are glad to play a small part in empowering customers make informed purchase decisions.”

The study found Ford Figo Petrol to be the most affordable mid-range hatchback, which means that it costs just 34 paise per KM to maintain. It is 28% less than the segment volume leader and the Figo Diesel, with its most powerful and bigger engine, was also among the most inexpensive, costing just 45 paise per kilometer to maintain. Amongst all the compact SUVs, both Ford Freestyle Petrol and Diesel variants were the least expensive to maintain, requiring 35% and 38% lower spending of just 34 paise and 45 paise per kilometer respectively.

Additionally, the Ford EcoSport, with spends of about Rs. 21,754 for petrol and 27,882 for diesel over a 60,000-kilometre ownership cycle. In the Premium SUV segment, the study showed 2020 Endeavour to be nearly 12% cost-effective to maintain compared to the market leader. While the Ford Endeavour owners spend just 71 paise per kilometre to maintain, those who drive its competing model spend 81 paise per kilometre to keep their SUV in shape. Ford Endeavour isn’t just a capability leader but a premium SUV that delights its owners with its overall value for money proposition as well.

The sales of Tata Nexon EV crosses more than 4000 units in 14 months

Tata Motor’s Nexon EV has become the bestselling electric passenger vehicle in India. This new Nexon EV has marked the sale of over 4,000-unit. So, Tata Motors, which had also closed FY2021 on a high with total passenger vehicle sales of 2,22,025 units up to 69 per cent year-on-year (FY2020: 1,31,196)which has now got another achievement.

This Nexon EV actually got launched back in January of last year. It was aimed to be an eco-friendly compact SUV that has seen rapid consumer acceptance. Just after 7 months of its rollout, it crossed the 1000-units mark and then the 2,000-unit mark in 10 months on December 2 2020, and has now crossed the 4,000 marks by end-March 2021 which is after 14 months to its launch.

Commenting on this Shailesh Chandra, president, passenger vehicles business unit, Tata Motors said, “The company registered its highest ever monthly and quarterly sales of 705 EVs and 1,711 EVs in March 2021 and Q4 FY2021. The Nexon EV, the highest sold EV in the country, crossed the milestone of 4,000 units, since its launch in January 2020.” With this, the Nexon EV has also emerged as the bestselling electric car in India. Right now, Tata Motors is leading the EV segment with a 64 per cent market share which is pretty huge. 

Tata has also claimed that the Nexon EV’s ARAI-certified range stands at 312km on a single charge, which is calculated using fixed parameters under urban driving conditions. A more serious level of recovery while driving in the city brought about a metropolitan scope of 216km, though on more liberated streets, with the engine continually working with less recovery, the thruway range remained at 201km on a full charge.

Hyundai India successfully completes durability tests for its upcoming 7-seater SUV Alcazar

Hyundai Motor India has announced it has successfully completed the durability tests for Alcazar, its 7-seater SUV based on the Creta. The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar comes covered in a unique castle-themed camouflage which is a unique way to camouflage a vehicle.

According to the maker, the new Alcazar would offer good performance, durability while offering good comfort too.

A video by the maker itself showcases the camouflaged Hyundai Alcazar through a trailer video that presents first-hand glimpses of a bold and dynamic C-Pilar, LED Headlamps, and Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels. They also claim that the Hyundai Alcazar has also passed challenging weather conditions to ensure this fortress is built to last.

The Hyundai Alcazar will be offered with a 152hp 2.0-litre engine which is often present in Tucson and Elantra. It doesn’t share its engine with Creta (1.5-litre NA – 115hp and 1.4-litre turbo – 140hp) instead of that, it boasts a more powerful engine under the hood. It can even come up with a  6-speed manual or either with a 6-speed torque automatic gearbox transmission.

On the diesel,1.5-litre 115hp diesel which is found in Creta with some refinements will be powering this diesel variant of the three-seater Alcazar. Just like the petrol one, this can even have the same gearbox which is a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque convertor automatic.

Recently the company also started to take pre-bookings for this SUV, while the global debut for the car would be happening this week.

Hyundai India begins accepting the bookings for the Hyundai Alcazar SUV, with the debut on 6th April. This is going to be an exciting launch as the Alcazar is a much-awaited car and it is finally launching.

The Alcazar is going to be a Creta-based car which would be a 7-seater SUV. The bookings for this new SUV have already commenced at Hyundai’s dealerships for a token amount of Rs 50,000.

In March, the maker had teased the design sketches of this new upcoming 7 seater which also told that it is going to be an SUV. The middle-row would come with an option of captain seats along with the centre armrest too. There is also going to be an option for some dedicated cup-holders too. While there isn’t much info on the features, we can expect it to have car connected tech Bluelink that was also seen on the Creta.

For the powertrain options, the Alcazar could come with the same petrol engine and gearbox options seen on the Creta. The 2.0-litre diesel engine could also make its way into the Alcazar along with a manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. 

The pricing and the rivalry of the new Alcazar, it could be positioned alongside the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the Mahindra XUV500. It could start at a price range from Rs 12 lakh and could go up to Rs 19.5 lakh (Ex-showroom) for the highest variant. While the global debut would be on April 6, we can expect the official launch to be in May and the deliveries could soon happen.

Both of the engines are paired with a 9-speed AMG torque converter-equipped MCT-Speedshift gearbox. It provides 95hp of peak power and can go up to 204hp. Along with that, it can go up to 300Nm of torque at a maximum of 13,500rpm in more performance-orientated driving modes.

There are a total of five different driving modes, one can choose from. That includes the Electric, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race, and Individual. The Electrical energy used to power the electric motor is put in a 400-volt 6.1kWh lithium-ion battery.

The V8 engine-based PHEV powerplant, which will first be appearing in the GT73e 4Matic 4-door, develops over 815hp and more than 1,000Nm of torque. However, the further models would be receiving the V8 PHEV unit. The four-cylinder PHEV drivetrain will debut as the successor to the C63 4Matic. A new electric turbocharger would be present to develop up to 450hp. Additionally, it is claimed to offer over 510hp and 700Nm of torque.
