An elite group of NSG commandos today started the Historic Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama Rally in 15 Tata Harrier SUVs

Celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, an elite group of 47 National Security Guard (NSG) commandos today, on the occasion of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’, started the ‘Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama’ to cover the length and breadth of India. Tata Harrier SUV from Tata Motors, India’s largest homegrown automaker, resonates with the edgy personas of the black cat commandos and is proud to be the NSG’s vehicle of choice in this expedition.

This landmark rally, flagged off by the Hon’ble Shri Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs, Government of India, will be driven in 15 Tata Harriers traversing through 18 prominent cities and covering a distance of 7500 km, in less than a month.

NSG is an elite counter-terror force and the commandos are brave, highly motivated and specially trained to win in the most difficult of situations. Starting from the historic Red Fort in New Delhi, the ‘Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama’ will tour India’s major war memorials and monuments through Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bodh Gaya, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Berhampur, Vizag, Vijaywada, Hyderabad, Ongole, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hublii, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Jaipur, celebrating the dedication and perseverance of the nation’s protectors.

Saluting and roaring for the NSG, Tata Harrier customers will also join the rally.

All New Force Gurkha launched at Rs 13.59 lakh

All-new Force Gurkha launched at Rs 13.59 lakh in India. The new Gurkha was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, with Force only recently revealing the production-spec model. The bookings for the new off-roader have officially begun, and according to Force, its deliveries will commence from October 15.

As for the new Gurkha itself, it looks similar to the previous model despite the entire body shell being new. Although there are some key changes over the older model, such as the new grille, bumpers, light clusters, larger rear windows that Force calls ‘panoramic windows’ and a larger rear windshield. There are even a few design changes like the front grille now has ‘Gurkha’ spelt out rather than the Force Logo and it gets a new 4x4x4 badge on the rear fender that the former didn’t.

Inside, the dual-tone cabin has been replaced by a single tone dark grey. However, the new dashboard design is still present. There are new features that have been included such as a new touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth support. This is in addition to kits like tilt and telescopic adjust steering, individual armrests for the rear seats, USB charging sockets for all four occupants, power windows, central locking, air-conditioning, LED headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps and cornering lamps. The Gurkha even gets a snorkel as standard from the factory. In terms of the powertrain, it comes with 2.6-litre, diesel engine that produces 91hp and 250Nm. This engine comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, though there is no option for an auto’ box.

Tata Motors celebrates its milestone of 10,000 EV customers. According to Tata, this new milestone signifies a growing number of delighted customers of a Tata EV. They also say, the first 10,000 EVs have been led by the early adopters and with this encouragement, Tata Motors has built a viable roadmap for the future and is committed to staying on course with making EVs mainstream.

On achieving the 10K rollout milestone Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “The achievement of 10,000 EVs on road is a strong testament to how our innovative electric vehicles are resonating well with customers. We are proud to have lived up to the high expectations of the early EV adopters and are thankful to them for their continued trust in the brand. Tata claims that now they have a market share of over 70%, Tata Motors has crossed the 1000 unit volume in August’21 and with a strong order book, the company’s vision of creating a sustainable future in the automobile industry is being recognized and appreciated by all customers. They are also ramping up the charging infrastructure with 700 plus installations in 120 cities across India furthers the commitment to sustainability and modernization.

Tata Motors launched the Nexon EV in January 2020 and recently launched its second EV in the personal segment, the new Tigor EV, which comes with a GNCAP 4-star rating for adult and child occupant protection and boasts of an extended ARAI certified range of 306 km (under standard testing conditions).  The company has also launched the XPRES T electric sedan, its first product under the XPRES brand, exclusively for fleet customers, to create a new benchmark for urban shared and commercial mobility.

Ducati launches the 2021 Ducati Monster in India

Ducati launches the 2021 Ducati Monster in India. The Monster is priced at INR 10.99 Lacs and Monster Plus is priced at INR 11.24 Lacs respectively. According to the maker, the new Monster represents all the essence of Ducati in the lightest, most compact, and essential form possible.

Commenting on the launch Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India said“The new Monster is a true star for everyone at Borgo Panigale. A brand name that has marked the history of Ducati like few others, by becoming our best-selling model ever as Ducati has sold more than 350,000 motorcycles since the Monster was first introduced in 1993. The new Monster is a completely new bike, designed to be more sporty, light, and easy to ride, to make it accessible to new riders as well as to ones that are more experienced. Globally, we have had a terrific response for the new Monster and I am confident that it will be a hit amongst the riding community in India as it perfectly suits our riding conditions as a naked, light Ducati that is just fun!”

As for the bike itself, the new Monster gets a new engine, a Testastretta 11°, 937 cc L- twin, with Desmodromic distribution and BS6 homologation. When compared to the previous 821, the maker claims that the new engine increases in displacement, power, torque, and decreases in weight (-2.4 kg) to contribute to the lightness of the bike and offers a vastly better riding experience. It now churns 111 hp at 9,250 rpm with maximum torque of 93 nm delivered at just 6,500 rpm, proving to be efficient and reactive in throttle response. 

The standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, Traction Control, and Wheelie Control, all adjustable to different levels of intervention. The sporty character of the bike is denoted via the Launch Control, which ensures lightning-fast starts. This electronic equipment also allows in expressing the performance of the bike with a high level of active safety.

The new Monster is equipped with three Riding Modes (Sport, Urban, Touring) that allow shaping the character of the bike according to different riding preferences and needs. Everything is managed via the handlebar controls and the bike now features a new 4.3″ colour TFT dashboard featuring racing graphics inspired by the Panigale V4, with a large rev counter that shows the gear position as well.

Volkswagen Taigun SUV launched in India at a starting price of Rs 10.50 lakhs

Volkswagen has announced its much-awaited Taigun in India at a starting price of Rs. 10.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). This SUV’s clear rival is Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, which is available in two turbo petrol engines with almost seven variants to choose from. The Volkswagen Taigun is available in two variant lines i.e, Dynamic Line and Performance Line. This Dynamic Line confines three trims i.e, Comfortline, Highline and Topline. Meanwhile, the Performance Line includes two trims i.e, GT and GT Plus. It comes with a combination of four engine-gearbox to pick up from, The prices of every variant is enlisted down below.

Volkswagen Taigun: Interior and Exterior

Moving towards the exterior, The Taigun SUV bundles huge LED headlights along with DRLs onto its front, a chrome grille and highlighting of chrome even implements on the lower part of the bumper. On to its rear, it features a tail-light cluster that runs across the width of the tailgate with more addition of subtle chrome below the bumper. The Volkswagen Taigun is available across 5 colour variants- Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel Grey.

As for the interiors now, its interior theming holds a bit more minimal approach which bundles the infotainment screen integrated into the dashboard and a unique set of AC vents for this. However, The dashboard is not a standard affair for every trim. The switch gears carry some footprints from the Skoda Kushaq. The interior features a 10-inch Infotainment system with the integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay which can be controlled wirelessly, an 8-inch digital cluster, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, cool glovebox, chilled front seats, a sunroof, USB Type-C Ports, Wireless Charging Pad with 17-inches of alloys.

Volkswagen Taigun: Engine and Gearbox

As far as safety is concerned, Taigun has six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC (it’s standard across every trim), hill assist control, tyre pressure deflation warning indication, parking camera and ISOFIX child mount seats. The Taigun powertrain options are quite familiar with the Skoda Kushaq. In terms of powertrain, the Volkswagen Taigun comes with two TSI turbo-petrol engines:- a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 115hp of power and 175Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that powers 150hp and 250Nm of torque. Both of these engines have a standard 6-speed manual gearbox across every trim. Nevertheless, it features different gearbox options where a 1.0 TSI engine gets a 6-speed torque converter and a 1.5 TSI with a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch. This 1.5 TSI engine also includes some features like fuel-saving cylinder deactivation technology.

Audi launches e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT in India for ₹1,79,90,000 and ₹2,04,99,000 respectively

Audi launches e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT in India. Audi says that it is taken from a novel on the classic Gran Turismo concept, the Audi e-tron GT and the Audi RS e-tron GT combine emotional design and sports car performance.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “Today is a milestone day for us as we launch India’s first electric supercars. This is our fourth and fifth electric vehicle launch since July ’21 and we couldn’t be more excited for our customers. The Audi e-tron GT and the Audi RS e-tron GT are the ultimate brand shapers from Audi and are the manifestation of Audi’s continuous evolution as a progressive premium brand. These two four-door coupes symbolize our DNA and our ambition to shape the future of premium mobility.”

As for the exterior, the Audi e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT come with 50.8 cms (R20) 5-spoke aerodynamic module style, Black, diamond-turned alloy wheels. At the front, the Singleframe hints at an all-electric drive train take the place of prominence and the honeycomb-patterned radiator grille is available in light Hekla grey or with the body colour as an option.

Moving to the inside, the instrument panel, which contains the Audi virtual cockpit, draws away from the driver to form an arc. The sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel, replete with its multifunction buttons, takes centre stage for the driver. The centre control, holding the central MMI touch display on top, is biased towards the driver and is surrounded by a black piano bezel that appears to be afloat.

In terms of the electric motor, the Audi e-tron GT has a power of 390 kW and accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h in a superfast 4.1 seconds, while the 475 kW RS e-tron GT achieves the same feat in mere 3.3 seconds. It comes with Adaptive Air suspension you can change the characteristics of the car to make it go from a relaxed GT to a sharp supercar. The electromechanical power steering plus features power steering with greater support for steering assistance at low speeds.

As this is an EV, charging is the most important thing, so it comes with up to 22kW AC and up to 270kW DC. The High power charging with 800 Volt technology with up to 270 kW charging power, charging the Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT from 5% to 80% in approx. 22 mins.

Ducati Monster pre-bookings open ahead of the India launch

Ducati Monster pre-bookings open ahead of the India launch. The brand has officially announced the pre-booking for its sportiest naked motorcycle for 2021, the Monster and Monster Plus in India. According to the maker, the new Monster represents the essence of Ducati in the lightest, most compact, and essential form possible.

Commenting on this Mr Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India said“The new Monster has already witnessed a stupendous response in the global market, and this is especially true of young riders and enthusiasts. We’re thrilled to bring the new Monster and Monster Plus to the Indian market, and let our riders experience the sportiest naked we’ve made for the middle weight segment. I certainly can’t wait for riders to experience the agility and sleekness of the new Monster.”

Ducati has set the initial amount for the pre-order at INR 100,000. Customers can book their Monster at their nearest Ducati dealerships till the current stocks last. The digital launch of the new Monster will take place at 11 am on September 23rd on Ducati India’s social media channels and deliveries will begin soon after the launch and it will be available on display across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, and Chennai.

Also, the brand has said the test rides for the 2021 Monster will also begin shortly after the launch, under the Ducati Cares programme which ensures the practice of all safety measures to tackle the current covid-19 situation. Currently, other than the pre-order details, there hasn’t been revealed anything yet, the motorcycle will be launched in India, so more details on price, variants, standard equipment will be shared at the time of its launch.

Skoda India crosses the 10,000-bookings mark for the Kushaq. Skoda says that the mid-sized SUV has bolstered the growth for ŠKODA AUTO India. It has got an overwhelming demand. 2022 Nissan GT-R with two special edition models revealed

2022 Nissan GT-R with two special edition models revealed. The brand has revealed the car with two new special edition models, one of them is the Premium Edition T-Spec and the other one is called the Track Edition.

As for the GT-R itself, the maker says that it has upgraded brakes and two special paint options. For starters, both the T-spec and Track Edition models have been updated with carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon fibre rear spoiler, limited badging and an exclusive engine cover. Inside, the interior comes with pearl suede accents, quilted Alcantara finish for the dashboard and semi-aniline leather-appointed seats. It also gets new Rays forged alloy wheels in bronze, an expanded wheel rim and lightened components beneath the suspension springs. Also, the brand has confirmed that the other Track Edition would feature a carbon fibre roof, boot lid and are based on the standard car with technology added by Nismo.

Furthermore, they also gain Midnight Purple and Millennium Jade paint options, paying homage to older generation GT-Rs, where these colours have been used before. The maker has confirmed that all Premium Edition T-spec and Track Edition models will go on sale in the second half of October, with production being limited to only 100 units. As for the powertrain, this time too, the GT-R continues to derive power from a 565hp, 633Nm, 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 motor. There’s also a higher-spec version that produces 591hp. The maker claims that the engine comes mated to a 6-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters too.
